Description
For nearly 50 years, The Atlanta Rhythm Section has been a part of the Southern Rock scene, and you can see them LIVE at the Performing Arts Center (PAC) of Wisconsin Rapids at 7:30 pm on Friday, October 18, as the Arts Council enters its 43rd season of entertaining Central Wisconsin. The PAC is located at 1801 16th Street South. The Atlanta Rhythm Section represents the good things the phrase “classic rock” implies. With over 15 albums produced over the years, this band performs songs you’ll recognize. Their biggest hits include So Into You, Champagne Jam, Imaginary Lover, Homesick, and Spooky. To whet your appetite, visit www.atlantarhythmsection.com. At 3:00 pm on the afternoon of October 18, the band is presenting a free outreach opportunity for area students. Band leader Rodney Justo, along with another band member, will share their experiences with live performance and the history of Atlanta Rhythm Section, including stories that go back to Roy Orbison and the Classics Four. Contact the Arts Council to sign up. Tickets for the performance are available for $39 (plus tax) and may be purchased through The Arts Council of South Wood County 24/7 at www.SavorTheArts.org. If you prefer to purchase through the Arts Council office, stop by 1040 8th Street South, Suite 101, Wisconsin Rapids; or call 715.424.2787 between 10:00 am and 2:30 pm Monday through Thursday. Thank you to Mead Witter Foundation and radio station WLJY for sponsorship of this performance.
