Description
In 2014, Incourage received an ArtPlace America grant to integrate permanent interior and exterior art installations in the Tribune Building. Now, the artists? work is taking shape, and they?re engaging residents. Father and son metal artists August and Boleslaw Kochanowski are creating ?Cranberry Bog?, a steel and glass handrail for the Tribune building?s rooftop lounge. You are invited to get a first-hand look at what it takes to create this stylized depiction of cranberries on the vine. Join us for an open house at the Kochanowski Studio on Saturday, May 21. Attendees to the open house will receive a tour of the Kochanowski blacksmith shop and studio. You?ll see the type of material that is stocked for forging and sculpting, and the equipment, benches, anvils, and countless tools that are used in the forming and shaping of the metals. You?ll also learn the basics of working the iron in the hot, malleable state, followed by forging demonstrations. There will be opportunities for Q&A as well! Details are as follows: ? Saturday, May 21 ? 10:00 a.m. ? 1:00 p.m. ? Kochanowski Studio: 3349 County Road H, Junction City WI 54443 ? RSVP here: https://tribbuilding.kimbia.com/openhouse
