George Gruetzmacher (PhD, CIH, CSP, PE) from the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene - University of Wisconsin - Madison will introduce attendees to Workplace Hazards: OSHA and Reducing the Risk
On average, 13 people die of workplace injuries and 130 people die of workplace illnesses every day. One way to begin reducing this toll is complying with Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations. OSHA standards, however, are only the beginning. A company can comply with regulations, but many risks remain. In this session we will review OSHA and OSHA regulations, and then introduce a more complete method to look at and reduce workplace risk: Safety and Health Management Systems.
