    Job Description
    Position Description
    Under the direction of the Electrical/Industrial Automation Supervisor, this fulltime position is responsible for assisting the maintenance department with support of processing/packaging of whole food products.
     
    Qualifications 
    • 2-year degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or similar field
    • Experience in a production facility, specifically with packing equipment preferred
    • Experience with food safety standards preferred
    • Valid Driver’s License
     
    Job Responsibilities
    • Install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, power equipment, and components of machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, specifications, schematics and blueprints
    • Install and repair control and distribution apparatus, including motors, relays, switches, circuit-breaker panels, etc
    • Install and connect power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus for machines and equipment in facilities
    • Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment using testing instruments and equipment
    • Electrical-Mechanical troubleshooting
    • Wire, install and program Variable Frequency Drives
    • Work with 480 3-phase VAC, 240 single and 3-phase VAC, 24 VDC
    • Layout and prepare conduit/wiring for installation
    • Assist Maintenance Technicians on routine breakdowns when directed
    • Work with other team members to deliver projects on time and to budget specifications
    • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
    • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
    • Perform skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines
    • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
    • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
    • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
    • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
    • Comply with safety regulations (including food safety) and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
    • Respond to emergency calls occasionally
    • Carry out additional job tasks assigned by supervisor

    Physical Demands
    This position is split between desk work and working within/around Packing Facilities. Physical requirements include the ability to sit for extended periods of time to perform computer work, along with periods of walking, standing, reaching, stooping, squatting, lifting up 75 lbs. occasionally. Work can be performed indoors and outdoors in cold, hot or wet conditions on uneven surfaces.  Able to handle physical workload.
