As part of its on-going planning process, McMillan Library is hosting a series of four public workshops, moderated by the firm of Engberg Anderson. These will focus on the Adult Room on the Library’s Upper Level. The space has physically changed little since McMillan opened in 1970. It formerly housed the card catalog, reference collection and magazines. Since use of the room has changed significantly, we want to gather community ideas for its future.

We are inviting community leaders to the four workshops. If you can make only some of them, we appreciate the gift of your time. If there is someone you would send in your place, we welcome their contribution. The workshops will be at noon and are planned for ninety minutes. Lunch will be provided.

The first workshop is on January 23rd and will focus on defining the expectations for the project. Participants will be encouraged to share initial thoughts and ideas regarding how to better utilize the Adult Room. Tours of the Adult Room will be available between 11:30 and noon, if you would like to get a better idea of current use of the space. If you or a designee plan on participating, please confirm using the link below, so we can plan lunch.

Additional workshops will be held on February 13th, March 13th and April 10th. We will remind you of these as they approach.
