WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI – In some places of employment – where dress codes exist – the opportunity to dress down in jeans is pure happiness! What if you could wear jeans and do it for a good cause?
On October 4, 2019, United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties will be having its annual Community Wide Denim Day. Businesses and organizations are encouraged to allow their employees to wear jeans in exchange for a $5.00 donation to United Way.
“The event got its start when a local business approached us and asked if everyone could wear jeans on the same day,” said Tari Jahns, United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties CEO. “They said they had strict dress codes but if everyone in the community was participating, they could do it. Now, our Denim Day is an annual event!”
To participate, businesses and organizations collect $5.00 per employee who wears jeans on October 4, 2019 and drop off the proceeds to the United Way office (351 Oak Street, Wisconsin Rapids).
You can make an electronic $5.00 payment on our website atwww.uwswac.org. Look for our “Denim Day” banner and click on the link. This is a perfect way for employees to participate without employers having to collect donations. It is also a way for anyone who works from home, or are self-employed, to get involved too! You can also feel confident in knowing that several other businesses and organizations across south Wood and Adams Counties are participating the same day.
Be sure to order FREE “United Way Casual Day” stickers for staff to wear on October 4 so customers know how employees are supporting a good cause. Stickers are available at United Way’s office and can be ordered by calling 715-421-0390.
When your business or organization participates in Community Wide Denim Day, contact Taylor Pemble at United Way at 715-421-0390 email@example.com. United Way will send a photographer to take a group photo and post the photos on social media.
You can order these FREE stickers from the United Way office, to let your customers know that you are wearing denim for a good cause.
