Heart of Wisconsin Partners with the Community to Show SupportJuly 30, 2019
Wisconsin Rapids, WI — On Friday, July 26th, the Heart of Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce and Incourage held a luncheon for the visiting and local utility crews at Water Works and Lighting Commission as they restored power back to the community.
After the devasting storms and power outages struck on Saturday the 21st, the local community decided to act to thank the workers. Feeding well over one hundred individuals, local businesses and community members donated food and beverages that gave the workers a feeling of a home-cooked meal. The Heart of Wisconsin and Incourage would like to thank the keys businesses who made the event possible:
- Bull’s Eye Country Club
- Heartland Farms
- Ocean Spray
- Ron’s Refrigeration
- Piggly Wiggly
- Quality Foods
- Rubi Reds
- Great Expectations
An additional thank you goes out to the community for making baked goods for dessert.
“We wanted these workers to feel at home while they were in our community” commented Vice President Krista Coon, the lead organizer from the Heart of Wisconsin. “It was important for us as an organization to bring the community together to recognize these workers.”
As many businesses and residents have regained power, the Heart of Wisconsin staff would personally like to thank all those involved in bringing the community back online and ready for business.
