Rafters Open Final Series of First HalfJuly 01, 2019
Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. – After sweeping the Dock Spiders, the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (21-13) prepare for a two-game series with the Green Bay Booyah (15-19) starting Monday.
The Rafters scored first against Fond du Lac Sunday and never looked back on their way to a 5-1 win. Davion Downey had two RBIs and Neil Abbatiello got the win as the Wisconsin Rapids starter.
The Rafters are 4-2 against the Booyah this season, outscoring Green Bay 34-20 through six meetings. The Rafters are currently riding a four-game winning streak as they continue a five-game homestand.
Nathan Hemmerling will start for the Rafters with a 3-1 record and a 1.28 ERA through five starts. In his last outing, Hemmerling struck out five batters in five shutout innings against Fond du Lac on June 25. Dalton Wiggins makes his first start for Green Bay tonight. The right-hander has an 0.75 ERA in eight relief appearances.
The Rafters and Booyah finish the series Tuesday at Historic Witter Field on That 70’s Night, featuring music, trivia, and food specials reminiscent of the 1970’s.
