Sheriff’s Department Helps Cancer Patients
WISCONSIN RAPIDS - The Wood County Sheriff's Department recently donated $500 to the Aspirus UW Cancer Center’s Cancer Patient Fund to be used to help patients who need financial assistance with costs related to their treatment.
The Sheriff’s Department raised the funds by selling uniform patches and pins with the design shown here, selling out of 100 pins and 250 patches. They were inspired by their desire to support a co-worker whose wife was battling breast cancer.
Stopping by Aspirus UW Cancer Center on January 15 to present the donation were Captain Quentin Ellis (left) and Sheriff Shawn Becker (right). Accepting the donation was Lori Slattery, Manager - Aspirus UW Cancer Center & System Advance Care Planning.
