Wisconsin Rapids, WI – The Heart of Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce in partnership with local business hosted Manufacturing Mania as part of Manufacturing Month in October for five area high schools.

Students from Lincoln, Pittsville, Nekoosa, Port Edwards, and Assumption High Schools were able to gain insight more about today’s high-tech manufacturing and engineering industries. Participating businesses included SKS Machine, Tweet Garot Mechanical and ERCO Worldwide. In addition to learning about businesses, students toured Mid-State Technical College and learned about in-demand manufacturing careers.

“Manufacturing is one of the leading industries in Wisconsin. Many businesses located in Central Wisconsin rely on these businesses to produce products or services,” stated Vice President Krista Coon. “It is a great experience for students as they decide their career path.”

Manufacturing Mania is made possible by the partnership between business and education. Thank you to supporting local businesses Waupaca Foundry, Port Service Garage, Nekoosa Coated, West Rock, Doorworks, Rapids Woodworks, Hay Creek Pallet, Simplicity Credit Union, Premier Reality-Paul Schlaefer, Valley Communities Credit Union, Payroll and Bookkeeping, and Win Supply of Wisconsin Rapids.

The Heart of Wisconsin will be hosting additional student bus tours in 2022. Areas of focus will include Agriculture, Emergency Services, Construction Trades, and Financial Services.
