About Nate and Double Down Pub

Nate is the current owner of Double Down Pub since Jan. 2020. The Pub was formerly known as Wild Horse Saloon in Kellner.

When asked what he wanted to be when he grew up, his response was, “I just knew I wanted to work for myself.” At a very early stage in life, Nate had already caught the entrepreneur bug. Over the years, Nate has run, operated, and grown two different businesses in the area. He is motivated to be a successful business owner and is passionate about giving back to the community.

After taking over the Pub, Nate put all his focus into renovations. These renovations took only 16 days to develop the open concept layout that aligned with Nate’s overall vision for the bar. With family and friends’ support, the facility was transformed into a beautiful location for dinner, events, and leagues.

Nate continues to grow the business by selecting national talent for his larger events. On July 16th, Double Down will be feathering Boogie and the Yo-yo'z. “We want to bring in large talent that the community will enjoy. Not to mention, serve up some delicious foods from our menu before the show. My personal favorite is the Jalapeno Cheese Fries. Who can go wrong with spice, bacon, and cheese?”

Nate focuses his spare time on his two children in sports, outdoor activities, and volleyball. He has a proven track record when it comes to running many successful fundraisers and other benefits/causes he feels strongly about.

Do you have any advice for a new business owner?

“Stay away from 2020…Seriously, do not overreact to situations, just adjust and find new ways to be innovative. You also need to be comfortable with who you are as a business.”
