WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Marshfield Clinic Wisconsin Rapids Center, 220 24th St. South, has renamed its same day walk-in service as urgent care.

There is no change to the service, only its name. Urgent care hours will remain Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday-Sunday, 8 a.m. to Noon.

“The change in nomenclature for this same day service is a matter of using a consistent naming convention throughout Marshfield Clinic Health System,” said Stephanie Tate, central Wisconsin Urgent Care administrator for Marshfield Clinic Health System. “Patients are still able to be seen the same day for non-emergency medical conditions when they become sick or injured, but can’t wait for an appointment to see their primary care provider. We just now call it ‘urgent care,’ which is a familiar term for most people.

Types of care often suited for urgent care may include fever, cough, sprains/strains, and cuts for adults and children.
