RVBusiness Magazine Honors Greeneway RV with Two Industry AwardsOctober 26, 2022
WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. – RVBusiness magazine recently released the list of its 2022 Top 50 RV Dealers in North America Awards recipients, including local dealer Greeneway RV Sales & Service located at 8220 State Hwy. 13 South, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., who was also selected to receive the additional high honor of the Maxwell Innovation Award for creative business strategies.
“No matter how many times we are recognized with the TOP 50 award, each occurrence is humbling. Being selected to receive the Gaylord Maxwell award for Innovation is surreal – to be considered in the same caliber as the elite dealerships that have been selected previously. We are simply spreading the joy of the camping lifestyle. With a recipe so simple, this recognition is confirmation that we are doing it right!” Matt Ferkey, Operations Manager
Dealers across the United States and Canada must first qualify for invitation to apply through nominations from RV manufacturers who believe they’re outstanding in their field. Then, nominees fill out a comprehensive application covering practices pertaining to consumers, staff, marketing, charitable endeavors and overall business procedures. An independent panel of industry experts then reviews the applications during an intensive closed-door session at the RV/MH Hall of Fame & Museum in Elkhart, Ind., known as the “RV capital of the world.”
“The 12 judges involved in reviewing the applications engaged in lively discussions through two days of heated debate. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen that much interaction throughout the whole process,” said Dealer Coordinator Barb Riley. “It was a horse race to the very last, and particularly so when selecting the Maxwell Award winner among our already-stellar class of 2022. Greeneway’s second-to-none creative innovations and troubleshooting solutions deeply impressed the whole panel.”
Mick and Lora Ferkey have owned and operated Greeneway RV since 1987 and have always put the customer experience on top of all else. In 2007 their son Matt joined the dealership and has shared in their strategy. This year, after countless awards and recognitions including being inducted into the RV Hall of Fame, Mick and Lora will retire and pass on the torch. “We have a buying process that is as good as anyone else, but where the separation occurs is in the service department. If we can more quickly and accurately diagnose and repair issues through proper education and specialized equipment, you can bet we will be on the bleeding edge… I am proud to follow in my parents’ footsteps and push the industry toward a more customer centric experience.” Matt Ferkey
The RVB Top 50 Awards honorees will be publicly recognized on stage Nov. 9 at an all-industry reception held during the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association International Convention/Expo at?Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, thanks to support from program sponsors Airxcel Inc., Dometic, Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp., LCI Industries, NTP/STAG, Cummins Inc., Genesis Products, Protective Asset Protection, Northpoint Commercial Finance, Brown & Brown Dealer Services?and?Wells Fargo CDF.
"The group of people involved with the Top 50 program, not only sponsors and staff, but judges and nominees represent the best the RV industry has to offer. Being part of a group of like minded, hard working individuals and recounting the unique things that they do is both heartening and motivating."
