Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) Thanks Wisconsin Rapids Rafters for Partnership
Every year at this time Chapter 101 of the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) distributes Orange Blossoms at local sites. This is our major fund raiser for the entire year. This year is more critical than any in the past because last year we were not able to do Orange Blossoms, and this put a damper on our donations.
In addition to the local businesses that we distributed at on Friday and today, the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters stepped up and designated the VVA as the non-profit of tonight’s game. This allows us to distribute more Orange Blossoms and to explain what they mean to Vietnam veterans. It also gives us a chance to meet and greet with friends and neighbors who may not know about our organization.
All the monies that are donated stays in the Central Wisconsin area to support veteran organizations and community projects. Some examples are Tomah VA hospital, the Highground, King veterans’ home, SWEPS, YMCA, Boys and Girls Club and several others.
We, the members of Chapter 101, would like to express our sincere gratitude to the entire Rafter’s organization for this opportunity.
